Diocese of Dunkeld

Welcome to the website of the Diocese of Dunkeld, one of the eight Roman Catholic Dioceses in Scotland. Dunkeld is part of the province of St Andrews and Edinburgh, and is the oldest Diocese in Scotland, having existed before the 9th century and was the administrative centre of the Scottish Church from 849 AD.

The Diocese consists of the City of Dundee and the counties of Angus, Perth and Kinross, Clackmannanshire, the parishes of Cupar, Newport on Tay, Tayport, Auchtermuchty and High Valleyfield, in Fife; and in the county of Stirling, the parishes of Dunblane, Doune, Callander and Killin.

Following the resignation of Bishop Vincent Logan on health grounds, the Diocese is under the care of Mgr Basil Canon O’Sullivan, who was elected as Administrator by the College of Consultors.

We hope you find the site informative and that it will bring you up to date with all the events happening in our diocese. You will also find links to the wider Church community, not only in Scotland, but worldwide.
